Triplet as TandemTandem case

You would like to take your tandem on vacation in the car, train, bus or plane? No problem! No problem! Santana offers you the perfect solution with the dismountable tandem.

tandem caseThe Santana frame can be disassembled and packed into an oversize suitcase (84x70x40 cm) in 15-30 minutes. Unlike other folding tandems, a Santana dismountable tandem is a full high performance tandem. The ingenious construction of the frame consists of four Z-couplings, a tightly toothed tube end, secured with hexagon socket screws, and Santana's own oval coupling on the down tube. A special and large S&S clutch wrench is no longer needed.

Santana Titanium Z CouplingThe new Z-couplings from Santana not only facilitate assembly, but also reduce the weight. The Z and Oval couplings specially developed by Santana save about 500 grams on the frame compared to the S&S couplings used by other tandem manufacturers. Only an additional weight of 400 grams is allotted to the couplings.

Tandem case

The tandem hard case specially developed for Santana tandems is perfect for transporting the tandem safely and comfortably by car, train, bus or plane. The total weight of tandem and suitcase is about 25 kg, depending on the tandem model and features. For most airlines, the limit for free check-in of luggage is between 20 and 30 kg. Long-distance bus lines also have regulations in this regard. Please inform yourself in advance about the applicable luggage regulations.

To reduce the weight you can alternatively pack some smaller heavy parts, such as tools, saddles in a separate bag.

Tandem models with Z couplings

The dismountable option is available for all aluminum and titanium models in any frame size. In the aluminum frame of the eSCape, the couplings, made of high quality steel, are connected to the aluminum tubes using special adhesives. The Cabrio model can be transformed into a tandem by removing the middle section.
